Outer fabric in cotton sateen is easy to care for, durable and slightly heavier than outer fabric in gauze. In order for the silkworm to become a butterfly in its cocoon, it needs an effective protection against cold and heat which at the same time lets air through and transports moisture away. That's why quilts made of silk wadding are warm enough and very temperature-regulating. The silk fiber is smooth and therefore dirt-repellent. The silk wadding does not need to be washed, but aired instead, and stains can be treated. The silk quilt is a craft with a thousand-year tradition. An excellent, natural alternative!
